Meditation and Mindfulness Sessions:
In today’s fast paced world there are A LOT of ON buttons, distractions and impressions and we might find ourselves with less and less patience, shorter and shorter attention spans or a feeling of being more and more overwhelmed.
Our nervous system can get stuck staying turned ON in that fight or flight mode, always ready for battle. While it is a necessary and sometimes life saving feature of our ever wondrous bodies, we also equally need the OFF button. To activate our parasympathetic nervous system, lower our levels of the stress hormone cortisol and lower our blood pressure. To give our busy minds a much deserved break.
That can be much easier said than done and it is so easy to get caught up in life. We are human, and we have thoughts, and the purpose is not to turn off our thoughts and thinking, that would be pretty impossible, but it is to not get stuck in stories, rumination, wander off with thoughts deep down the rabbit hole when it causes anxiety or worry.
But to stay aware, to identify with the awareness observing what is, whether that be thoughts or emotions, or breath or the wind around us, to stay alert and present to all life is offering in real time.
To find our awareness, to find our presence, in this moment.
There are many styles of mindfulness meditation and through sessions we will explore the different tools and techniques to use to return to the present.
For example, the breathe is an excellent reminder, as it is always happening in the moment, can we find our breathe, allow ourselves to simply be. Know that that is enough, life is made up of millions of moments, each here and now, let ourselves be there for them,
Cultivate inner calm and peace, that carries through, makes us less reactive and gives us more freedom and space to respond to life as we choose.
To feel more compassion towards ourselves, and others, and with that relationships and perception of our lives can change and remind ourselves that we hold that power within us.
